3 inch long, forged brass blade, 85% copper, 12% Zinc, 3% other, mounted into a length of American white tail deer antler (hunted and killed with a spear) with a rivet of matching composition, and wrapped with sinew from the same Buck.

Neat-comfortable looking tool.Good for you, taking one with a spear-white tail's probably not the easiest stalking.
:iconbloody-tougue:
Who said anything about stalking? You get the fastest guy to chase the damn thing, with two others several yards out, as a flank to keep it from just turning. Then you chase it to a dead end where the fourth guy (typicaly the best thrust) is waiting. Then you stab it.

I have learned the hard way that getting close enough to stab a deer is almost impossible. Waist of time and energy.

Take a look at a Mime and an Emo Kid, you'll see a few similarities; Both are trapped in a metaphorical box that keeps others out and confines their feelings to themselves. Also, no one likes mimes or emo kids. Period.

Holy shit! That sounds great, never woulda thunk!Talked to a guy last year who was trying to stick a moose(some years i help a friend out by subing for him at his gas business, during the moose season),the guy never got his chance, but the spear was serious-looking web-job,some high-tech alloy.

O_o Moose? I don't care if I have a missle launcher, I will not fuck with a moose. They are the Abrams Tank of the ungulate world, and mean bastards to top it.

Anywhoo, Its not rocket science, but its really something to go period spear hunting. My dream going to a wild boar reserve in canada and aiming for one of the german black forest boars, or one of the ancient boar (which havn't changed sence the ice age, have uncloven hooves, and are the size of a VW beetle.) But thats a long way's (and wallet!) off.

The moose do get after you,at times.I knew a nitwiited fellow who jumped one in the water, out of the canoe, with a knife. The moose reached the bank too soon, the guy almost ate shit, but did manage to kill the bull, surprisingly.I'm happy with my 30-06,but all this madness does sound enticing somehow. The caribou up the Dalton Hwy,towards the N.slope of Brooks range are probably a good prospect-big bulls,200+lbs,cross the road in bands, all winter. They're open to bowhunters inside the 5mi pipeline corridor. And the wallet aspect,of course.I think it's fairly expensive for out of state hunters, don't know-lived here 20 years..You're welcome to come visit me here, bumfuck nowhere+,400 air-miles from the nearest road.I have an aging dog-team,you can get up to all sorts of neanderthal crazyness with them.

Technicaly, it did. Unless you look at a chemical base, zin and tin are quite similar, except for the melting point. Later, the greeks actually figured out how to make "bronze of the earth" (tin + copper, reddish brown in color) and "Bronze of the sun" (zing and copper, with its golden, yellowish color).

Tell that to the Vjralshad mound. Modernly, we would call the spears and knives found as brass, but historicaly, and copper alloy is bronze.
